In essence we are an outpatient programme offering 1-1 sessions for clients from our residential service, and from the community. We also run groups for Impaired Drivers, He Waka Hou, and Significant Other groups for family and friends of people with addictive disorders.
We work from a Victorian house that is warm and comfortable. There is no signage with our property as confidentiality is important to us. You can make a coffee or tea, read a magazine or in good weather sit outside on the verandah. Our client group is over 18 and we accept self- referrals. We are a Brief Intervention Service and most clients will see us for six to ten sessions. Sometimes we have the ability to extend this in exceptional circumstances. We do not see people with severe psychosis or people with a history of sexual offending against minors. More specialised services deal with these client groups.
Our staff are both experienced counsellors. We can be contacted through Moana House and are always happy to answer any queries about Continuing Care.
