The Open Polytechnic is offering Te Taketake 2017 students the option to up-skill in Tertiary Study Skills prior to studying in 2017:

Tertiary Study Skills - Level 4

 

This course covers techniques and strategies for learning and how you can apply them to your own learning. You will learn about study skills, time management, computer skills, information literacy, referencing and plagiarism, essay and report writing skills and online learning.

Once you have successfully completed this course, you will know how to:

  • Write an essay
  • Write a report
  • Research 
  • Reference your work correctly.

Please email your first and last name and your email address.  You will then receive an email direct from the Open Polytechnic from this address: customer.services@openpolytechnic.ac.nz  with a link to complete your application.

Enrolments for this semester starting October 31st close on the 24th of October so please get in ASAP  

 

Admission requirements

Applicants need a minimum of NCEA Level 2 or equivalent. If you do not have NCEA Level 2 or equivalent, you will be asked to provide your academic transcripts and a current CV when you apply to enrol.

The course is delivered online, so access to a computer with Microsoft Office (or similar) and the internet is required.

English language

English is the language of study at Open Polytechnic. You will need to be able to read and write well in English so that you can understand course materials and also submit written assessments. There are criteria that must be met if English is not your first language.
